State Visit to South Korea

Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia will pay a State Visit to the Republic of Korea on May 30-June 1, 2012, at the invitation of President Lee Myung-bak.

The Swedish Government will be represented by Minister for Enterprise Annie Lööf and Minister for Defence Sten Tolgfors. A business delegation headed by Chair of the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise Kenneth Bengtsson will also visit South Korea in connection with the State Visit.

The purpose of the visit is to promote relations between South Korea and Sweden - which today are significant - not only in the trade and economic areas but also in areas such as science, research, culture and education. During their visit the King and Queen will also attend the World Expo, Yeosu Expo, whose theme is 'The Living Ocean and Coast'.

To the editorial office
